Dear friends and family, I apologize for not keeping up with my responsibilities of keeping you all posted about what's going on in our lives. I guess the more time flies, the more I procrastinated! Well, Christmas was wonderful, we (our whole family) spent 7 beautiful days in South Florida in Ft. Lauderdale and spent New Years Eve day in Miami. Jake headed back to school Jan 4th, and I took Todd back on Monday, classes started on Wed. Jordan had her jaw surgery Jan.12th, I wanted to post a picture of her chipmunk cheeks but decided that would have been too funny at her expense. She made it through very well. She had to sustain a liquid diet for 2 weeks, pureed food for 2 weeks then onto soft food for 2 weeks. She is now enjoying most foods again! Jordan wrote and directed the senior play this year and it was a huge success, very funny, and short! Todd had a very successful first semester at U of M. He is now entrenched in the second semester and in the process of applying for business school. He plans on taking part time classes during spring half term then 3 classes in Korea during the summer. His favorite classes are Anthropology and Medical Anthropology. He is considering med school if the business school doesn't work out.
Jake is doing great! made the Dean's list for the first time last quarter. He loves IT and is hoping to graduate sometime next year. Jake comes home every once in a while (so I can do his laundry) :) We love it when he pops in though!
Bob and I decided to put our house on the market this spring in hopes of downsizing, maybe even renting. With the 3 kids in college next year, retirement looming on the horizon in 5 years or so, we thought it best to free up some of our obligations and not have to be bound to the expense of this home. Wish us luck. It's a lot of work getting a house ready to sell. My stained glass business has slowed way down, I guess people are just not decorating these days. We are very fortunate though, our kids are doing great, Bob still has a job, and I am keeping things going from my end.
We are looking forward to the summer at the cottage in Luna Pier and seeing everyone soon. Doug and Angie came down for Aubrey's meet and we went out to dinner, had a great time as usual, It's great to laugh! I miss them. Looking forward to seeing Scarlett and Nolan, I'm sure they've grown beyond recognition. Talk to them on the phone sometimes, really funny and so cute.
Hoping Jimmy gets a scholarship to play at OSU next year! Wouldn't that be great? Don't worry Lori and Jim, I will keep an eye on him for you, you know...pop in unexpected...make sure things are going well for him....hahaha
Well, I guess I've updated enough for now, I hope this doesn't sound like one of those Christmas letters.
Stay healthy, prayers for Timmy who just had his other hip replaced today. Angie says he's doing well though, although sore. please keep in touch, comment as you like. I have a facebook page too

It's Been a While

Hello all my Friends and Family,
I know it's been a while since I last posted. Well, we've had a great summer. Spent a lot of time in Luna Pier but unfortunately since Bob allowed me to re-do the kitchen, most of the time I was without it. It was well worth the effort though. The kids are doing great. Todd is settled in at U of M and is studying hard. He has developed a really good relationship with his room mate BC short for Beoung Chung, an exchange student from S. Korea. He has gone to school here in the states from 8th grade. They really have a lot in common. BC has taught Todd how to play squash, they will be joining a club team, and he helps Todd with calculus. Todd in turn edits all his papers. They love talking Eastern philosophy too. Jake is doing well, he is finally into his major courses and since working as a network engineer over the summer, he says they are a breeze. Jordan has already applied to Indiana University and was accepted. She has also applied to OSU but has made her decision to attend IU. She has taken a heavy load this year, but really is enjoying AP US Government and Economics. I really see her as a Sarah Palin type, very republican for a student!
Jordan was just told she got the lead in the fall play. She is also continuing to do speech team hoping to make it to the State finals again. Bob is very busy with work, trying to see the retirement light at the end of the tunnel. I'm becoming busier with stained glass work, just not as busy as I'd like.
I'd love to hear from you, and how your families are doing. You are always in my thoughts,
Love, Carrie

Moe and Sarah's beautiful Home
Bob Jake and I went to Moe and Sarah's to visit and we were astonished how much progress they made on their house. Moe has done a tremendous job on the carpentry and Sarah has such an eye for design. See for yourself. Nolan, now 1 years old was asleep most of the time, but when Sarah got him up, he was his usual smiling self. Scarlett is getting more and more beautiful and smart! I couldn't get enough of her hugs and kisses.
